At the attractive location close to Copenhagen Central Station in the neighborhood Vesterbro, the industrial buildings of “Kødbyen” have changed into a culture bomb of trendy restaurants, galleries, and sparkling nightlife.

The meatpacking district is divided into two parts, the brown “Kødby” from 1878 and the white “Kødby” from 1934, characterized by the color of the buildings. Kødbyens Fiskebar was one of the first restaurants to start the transformation from meat industry to a fashionable hotspot for going out in the early 2000s. Today, some buildings are still used for their original purpose side by side with restaurants and bars. Many restaurants have kept the raw and industrial look, which provides the area with a unique atmosphere. Also, the facades are preservation-worthy, resulting in no big signs or other characteristics.
