Playing padel tennis at Match Padel Kløvermarken in Copenhagen One of the most exciting activities for students in Copenhagen is to play padel tennis at Match Padel Kløvermarken. Padel tennis is an easy-to-learn, fast-paced, and, most importantly, fun sport that gained much attention during the last years. In this recommendation, you will learn about what padel tennis is, the essentials rules and where the best spot to play padel tennis in Copenhagen is. Let’s jump in!

What is padel tennis? Padel tennis can be described as a crossover of tennis and squash. Imagine taking the balls, net, and the court from tennis and merging it with the wall from squash. Voila, that’s padel tennis! The main difference is that you play padel tennis with a special racket that doesn’t have any strings but rather holes and is made out of composite material. Just take a look at the picture below to get an impression. You usually play it with four people in a two vs. two setting, making it the perfect activity to gather some friends and play a few rounds. But watch out: padel tennis is very intense due to its fast-paced nature and requires staying sharp all the time. Therefore, padel tennis is great to meet some fellow students and do your workout at the same time!

What are the essential rules of padel tennis? In general, the rules of padel tennis are relatively easy to understand and quite similar to tennis. You start by bouncing the ball on the ground and then serve it over the net into the opposite box. The opponents can now return the ball over the net or by using the back wall first. Just make sure that the ball only touches the ground once on each side! The other team gains a point as soon as one team fails to play the ball successfully over the net. The scoring works the same as in tennis. One set entails four steps of 0, 15, 30, and 40. If both teams score 40, another point is played until one team wins two points in a row. As soon as one team wins two sets, the game is over, and you have a winner! Where is the best spot to play padel tennis in Copenhagen?
