Christiansborg Tower, City Center, Copenhagen

Since the tower is part of Christiansborg which is the Danish parliament, you must go through a security check such as the ones at the airport. So, maybe bring some time as the check takes a moment and the space on top of the tower is limited. After that, you are ready to start the journey on Copenhagen’s highest tower but do not worry you do not have to walk all the way up. In fact, and one might not expect it, there is an elevator that takes you upstairs. First to the floor where “Restaurant Tårnet” is located. Either sit down, relax, and enjoy the view from inside or take the next elevator to get to the top and have the best view.
If you are new in Copenhagen, it is a perfect destination to see the beauty of your new home from above (and it might also help with orientation). If you have lived here for a longer time already and have not been on the tower, you should definitely add it to your bucket-list.
Christiansborg Tower is open every day except Mondays and the best thing: it is for free! That makes it also a good spot to bring friends and family who visit you in Copenhagen. Show them a fantastic 360-degree view of the city where you can see the Church of Our Saviour, the stadium of FC København (Parken), of course, Tivoli, and many more. If there is clear weather, it is even possible to see Sweden and the Øresund Bridge. Bring your camera and let’s go!
Remember the elevator? Well, that is only for the way up. After enjoying the views and the wind on top of the tower you can let the impressions sink while walking down the stairs.
What about a coffee and a little snack and another angle on Christiansborg, now?
The rooftop café at Illum is only a five-minute walk away.
