“Hyggelige” activities in Copenhagen on a rainy day

Is the dark, Danish fall weather draining you? We’ve got your back! Just because rain is inevitable in Copenhagen large parts of the year, you should not deprive yourself from some cozy activities to truly get under the skin of the Danish “hygge”.

Cafés

Treat yourself with some delicious small dishes from Café Gæst in Frederiksberg. They even have a section called “hyggeretter” (“hygge” dishes”) on their menu which are perfect to enjoy when the rain is pouring down outside. You can safely snuggle up in café Gæst while you wish for better weather.

Were your plans to participate in outdoor activities with friends cancelled by the rain? Say no more. Bastard Café in the center of Copenhagen offers a cozy atmosphere with tons of board games where you can spend hours of fun. They serve different drinks and affordable snacks as well so you can hide in the café until the rain stops (as if, welcome to Copenhagen).

If you are looking for a cozy hiding place from the rain, The Living Room in the center of Copenhagen is the place to go. They serve both warming hot drinks and cool delicious cocktails and they thereby have something for every time of day. With a setting like an actual living room, you feel at home and ready to put your “hygge” on from the moment you walk in.

Entertainment

Are you looking for a fun and indoor challenge for a group? Then Escape Room by Midgaard Event in Copenhagen Ø might be a good match. Solve puzzles in creative ways to collectively get out from the room (and back out in the rain). Escape rooms present a great opportunity for team building and enhancing out-of-the-box thinking.

For those who want to be a bit active on your rainy night out, Dupong in Copenhagen N combines table tennis with a bar that serves all kinds of drinks. Challenge your friends or tinder date to a game of table tennis and let a fun evening in rainy Copenhagen begin.

Set your inner artist free in Creative Space in Frederiksberg or Copenhagen Ø where you can paint your own ceramics. Everyone can participate and get help, and even if you are not up for letting your creativity shine through, you can simply enjoy the cozy atmosphere and a nice cup of coffee.
